ASRock DeskMini: Smallest case with a Micro-STX motherboard and GPU slot

The new mini-housing in Micro STX form factor allows the installation of a dedicated graphics card through an MXM slot, the space gained in comparison to the DeskMini 110 is also used for extended mounting locations for mass storage.

The 21.3 x 15.5 x 81.9-inch enclosure supports Intel CPUs with the 1151 socket, with the maximum thermal dissipation rating of 65 watts. The chassis with integrated mainboard is available in different versions, for example with a Z270 or B250 chipsets or with an integrated GPU.

The latter is connected via MXM, thus as a plug-in card, whereby the motherboard is connected to the screen. However, potential customers are likely to face major problems with the procurement of a corresponding GPU – MXM cards are hardly available on the market.

Regardless of the mainboard chipset, up to 32 gigabytes can be installed in the two DDR4 slots, but with different maximum clock rates. USB 3.1 in the Gen 1 is available at the front in the plug formats A and C. Three M.2 slots are available for the installation of fast mass storage.

Acer has not yet expressed itself regarding the product launch on the market or prices.
