SanDisk Ultra: The first microSD memory card with 400GB of storage

With the 400 GB UltraPlus microSD memory card, SanDisk delivers the largest microSD memory card ever. The data rates according to manufacturer’s information are not record-breaking: 100MB/s Read speed and 10/MB write speed.

So far, the capacity of standard microSD memory cards was limited to a maximum of 256 GB, SanDisk now sets the benchmark upwards: 400 GB correspond to an increase of over 56 percent, the last year jump from 200 to 256 GB was correspondingly much smaller.

Apart from the high capacity and thus also storage density, SanDisk is still silent on the exact specifications and, in particular, the exact speeds. The UHS-I card (obviously sequential) is supposed to reach up to 100 MByte / s, while the A1 certification ensures a continuous data rate of at least 10 MB / s.

The memory card is already on the market in September, the recommended retail price is 250 US dollars.

400GB* SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC™ UHS-I card includes an SD adapter as well, to be used in cameras.
