Mike Ybarra of the Xbox team promises that the long announced mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One will come soon, including some new games.
In the context of the major gaming event, PAX West 2017 in the USA, the Director of Program Management gave the Xbox One information on the planned mouse and keyboard support. At a press conference, Mike Ybarra was asked when the long-awaited function will finally become available.
Ybarra did not want to provide any details, but announced that the new feature will come “soon” and plans for proper implementation by the developers have already been made. A lot would be left to the studios themselves, but they would also offer coaches to the developers in order to be able to integrate the new functions in a responsible manner, thus minimizing balance problems.
Because the biggest concern is the balance in multiplayer titles, because of players with a mouse, especially in fast shooters, have aiming speed advantage when playing and shooting, therefore, therefore wants the developers to add an option, that players can play against each other only with similar input devices.
